DMP: NEW SOLAR STREET LIGHT TO IMPROVE NIGHT TIME VISIBILITY AT BURMA CAMP

Dimapur, September 9: The Traffic Officer-in-Charge on Tuesday conducted a site inspection at the Burma Camp Traffic Police Point, located near the bridge, where construction work is underway to install a solar-powered street light at the traffic point.

The existing traffic point was dismantled on Monday, September 7, to make way for the new construction. According to the Traffic Officer-in-Charge, the work is expected to be completed within about a week.

He said the installation of the solar street light was taken up mainly to address the lack of adequate lighting in the area, which becomes particularly dark at night.

The officer also informed that the debris from the dismantled traffic point was utilised to fill potholes in the surrounding area. He said the measure was taken to improve the condition of the area around the traffic police point while the ongoing work is being carried out.

The new solar street light is expected to improve visibility in the area at night and provide better conditions for traffic personnel and road users.
