Dimapur, September 8: Nagaland Governor visited the State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM), Dimapur, on Monday, where he encouraged students to pursue excellence, entrepreneurship and professionalism while remaining rooted in Nagaland’s rich cultural identity.
Addressing the students, the Governor highlighted the growing opportunities in the hospitality and tourism sector, stating that professionally trained youth could find careers not only in hotels and restaurants but also become entrepreneurs and job creators. He stressed the importance of competence, character and compassion, saying success in hospitality goes beyond technical skills and requires integrity, patience, humility and sincere service.
The Governor also underscored Nagaland’s immense tourism potential, noting that its landscapes, biodiversity, cuisine, traditions, music and cultural heritage offer unique experiences to visitors. He encouraged students and institutions to combine traditional Naga warmth and cultural identity with modern professionalism and innovation.
The programme also featured a cultural showcase by the students as a tribute to the Governor. The visit concluded with a photo session and a tree plantation programme by the Governor.
