COACHING EXPERTS BACK NSSB’S REMINDER; SMALL THING BUT IT MATTERS, SAY EXPERTS

Dimapur, October 3 (NNN): The Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) has reminded examination aspirants to ensure that photographs, signatures and other documents uploaded during the application process strictly follow the prescribed guidelines.

In a lighthearted social media post, the NSSB pointed out instances of applicants uploading selfies, wedding photographs, group pictures cropped to the face and re-photographed passport-size photographs. It also highlighted cases where signatures were uploaded along with an entire notebook page or captured from a distance instead of being properly cropped and clearly visible. The Board cautioned that although such mistakes may appear minor, incorrect, unclear or improperly cropped documents could create complications during the recruitment process and may affect a candidate’s candidature.

Speaking to Nagaland News Network, Shikavi Y, Assistant Director of Prep School for Civil Service Examinations, said that in the digital era, young people should have basic knowledge of handling online applications. He said the NSSB clearly provides the required specifications and guidelines, which aspirants should read and follow carefully.

Shikavi also stressed that aspiring civil servants need to develop discipline and attention to detail, noting that even basic responsibilities such as correctly filling out an application form and uploading the required documents are part of the discipline expected from an aspirant.

Meanwhile, V Khekato Awomi, Chairman of Edufy Institute and DMC Councillor for Ward 6, said such procedures should be basic knowledge for today’s youth. He said that even when applicants are unsure about the requirements, they can use the internet and other available resources to learn the correct procedure.

Awomi emphasised that while filling out forms may seem like a small task, it is an important part of the examination process and should be taken seriously. He encouraged aspirants to rectify such mistakes and make better use of digital resources while preparing for competitive examinations.
