Dimapur, August 21: The Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) under the Department of Health & Family Welfare held a one-day Media Sensitisation Programme on AB PM-JAY and the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) at the Capital Convention Centre, Kohima, on August 20, 2026.
The programme focused on enhancing public awareness about eligibility, benefits and access to healthcare services under the two schemes. NHPS CEO Thavaseelan K, IAS, urged the media to help ensure accurate and timely information reaches beneficiaries.Officials highlighted that AB PM-JAY and CMHIS General beneficiaries are covered up to ₹5 lakh per family per year, while CMHIS Employees and Pensioners receive coverage of up to ₹20 lakh.
The schemes provide cashless hospitalisation for secondary and tertiary treatments, while outpatient services and standalone diagnostic tests are not covered.
