Mon, Aug. 5: The Konyak Union has welcomed the visit of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda to the landslide-affected areas of Mon district, nearly two weeks after the devastating July 19 cloudburst that claimed lives and left many families homeless.
Speaking exclusively, Konyak Union Press and Media Secretary Kaibo Konyak said the disaster caused widespread destruction, with several families still struggling after losing their homes and loved ones. He said the affected communities are in urgent need of continued relief, rehabilitation, and long-term support.
During his visit on Wednesday, Nadda assessed the ground situation, interacted with victims, expressed his condolences to the bereaved families, and assured them that the Government would extend all possible assistance. The Konyak Union expressed hope that the Minister’s visit would pave the way for timely relief measures and sustained rehabilitation efforts for those affected by the tragedy.
