DIMAPUR, July 13: The Excise Department on Monday carried out a major enforcement drive against the illegal sale of liquor along National Highway-29, covering areas including 3rd Mile,, Purana Bazaar, Padampukhri, and Naharbari.
During the operation, officials seized large quantities of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), issued seizure memos to shop owners, and ordered several outlets to shut down for allegedly violating the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act.
However, shortly after the officials moved on, some shops were reportedly found operating again, raising concerns over enforcement and compliance. The Excise Department is expected to continue raids across Dimapur, while questions remain over further legal action against repeat violators.
