


DIMAPUR, AUGUST 19: A 58-year-old man, Samir Das, has been missing from Dimapur since 5 PM on August 18, 2026. According to his family, he was last seen near Clock Tower, Dimapur.
Speaking to Nagaland News Network (NNN), his younger brother Prabir Das said the family filed a missing person report at West Police Station on the morning of August 19 after Samir failed to return home.
According to Prabir, Samir is a stroke patient and has difficulty speaking and walking properly. He said this was the first time Samir had gone out and did not return home. The family also said there had been no dispute or problem at home that could have prompted him to leave. They have also not found any indication or suspicion of kidnapping.
The family received information that Samir may have been seen at the Dimapur Railway Station. With the assistance of police personnel from West Police Station, the family went to the Railway Police Station and reviewed the available CCTV footage. However, Prabir said the footage did not provide any clear clue about Samir’s whereabouts.
The family has also searched around Bokajan, but no information has been found so far. Prabir said that, with the help of police, their next step is to extend the search towards Guwahati.
