Kohima, August 11: A wage dispute involving construction workers engaged in the construction of Fire Brigade family quarters near the New Secretariat has been resolved following discussions between the workers and concerned parties at North Police Station, Kohima, today.
The workers had earlier alleged that their pending wages and other agreed payments had not been cleared. Following discussions at the police station, an agreement was reached and the outstanding dues were subsequently cleared.Labour in-charge Lhiwekhro Wetsah clarified that Papu, who was overseeing the work at the site, was not involved in the wage dispute.
He further stated that the FIR earlier filed against Papu has since been withdrawn.With the dues settled and the FIR withdrawn, the immediate wage-related dispute has been resolved.
