Kohima, 5th AUG: Minister Temjen Imna Along said the Nagaland Government is taking Assam’s concerns over mining seriously and is in touch with the Assam Government to address the issue.
He stressed that both states are facing severe damage from natural disasters and called for collective efforts instead of blaming each other.Responding to allegations linking Nagaland’s mining activities to flooding in Assam, the Minister said the state would act responsibly and avoid making provocative remarks, adding that the matter is expected to be discussed during the State Cabinet meeting in Wokha.
On deforestation, Along said the government will continue its afforestation and conservation efforts, noting that commercial logging is largely banned in Nagaland and emphasizing the state’s commitment to building a climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable future.
