Kohima, Aug 4 : The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) on August 3 carried out a peaceful public awareness drive across several schools in Kohima, including Mezhür Higher Secondary School, Little Flower Higher Secondary School, G. Rio Higher Secondary School, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and Minister’s Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School.
The campaign focused on promoting civic responsibility among parents, government vehicle drivers and local business owners. ASU volunteers distributed pamphlets reminding the public that government vehicles are meant strictly for official duties and warned shop owners that the sale of tobacco and intoxicating products within 100 yards of educational institutions is prohibited under the law.
The Union stated that it will continue conducting periodic compliance checks to uphold public ethics and ensure a safe and disciplined environment around schools. ASU also thanked parents, citizens and community members for their support and cooperation.
