LEADERS, ORGANIZATIONS CONDEMN CHUMOUKEDIMA IED BLAST; CALL FOR PEACE AND SWIFT ACTION

DIMAPUR, JULY 15: Political leaders and civil society organizations across Nagaland have strongly condemned the recent suspected IED blast at Chümoukedima ‘A’ village that claimed the life of an Assam Rifles personnel and injured four others.

The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) termed the attack a “dastardly act of terrorism,” stating that such violence has no place in a peace-loving society. It called for a swift investigation, urged authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice, and stressed the need to protect Nagaland’s hard-earned peace.

The Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) also condemned the incident, expressing solidarity with the victims and their families. It urged authorities to identify those responsible and maintained that peace and harmony must not be disrupted.

Advisor Moatoshi Longkumer described the blast as a “heinous and cowardly act,” calling for a prompt investigation while extending condolences to the bereaved family and wishing the injured personnel a speedy recovery.

BJP Nagaland State President Benjamin Yepthomi also denounced the attack, describing it as a senseless act of violence. He conveyed condolences to the family of the deceased and reaffirmed support for the security forces in maintaining peace and security.

The incident has triggered widespread condemnation, with leaders and organisations united in urging justice for the victims and the preservation of peace in the state.
