POLICE RAID PRYSM LOUGE, ARREST ONE PERSON

In the latest update on the June 30 Prysm Lounge vandalism case, the court has rejected the PR bond of accused Katho P Awomi after he was produced before it, resulting in him being remanded back into judicial custody.

Meanwhile, the NSF has lodged a separate FIR against Prysm Lounge owner Tito Yeptomi, alleging possible violations of the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation, endangering lives, and public nuisance in connection with the incident. Police have confirmed that the matter is under investigation.

Acting on the alleged NLTP violations, Dimapur Police raided and shut down Prysm Lounge, arresting one person and seizing suspected liquor-related items. Another establishment was also reportedly closed for operating late at night, as police continue intensified enforcement of the NLTP Act.

The developments have also renewed focus on the demand by civil society organisations, including the DUCCF and Naga Council Dimapur, to repeal the NLTP Act, though no decision has been announced by the government.
