Kohima, July 9: Fifty-six outstanding HSLC 2026 achievers were honoured at the 8th Chief Minister’s Meritorious Students Fellowship (CMMSF) Awards held in Kohima on Thursday.
Addressing the programme, School Education Advisor Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome congratulated the awardees and said the CMMSF is not just financial assistance but a recognition of merit that encourages students to dream bigger and serve society. He urged them to remain humble, work hard, and contribute to Nagaland after achieving their goals.
Dr. Yhome noted that only 56 students were selected from 22,765 HSLC candidates this year, while over 6,300 did not qualify, urging the awardees to stay grounded and compassionate. He also highlighted that 43 girls and 13 boys received the fellowship, with all awardees coming from private schools, stressing the need to strengthen government schools.
He further announced that the CMMSF mentorship programme will continue supporting the students for the next five years. The event concluded with the presentation of awards and certificates to all 56 fellowship recipients.
