Dimapur, July 8: The hospital has issued a clarification over media reports regarding the treatment bill of a premature new born, stating that the baby received 64 days of intensive neonatal care after being born at just 920 grams.
According to the hospital, the parents were informed at the time of admission that the CMHIS package would not fully cover the prolonged NICU stay and had signed a consent agreeing to bear any non-covered expenses.
The hospital said it has approached the Nagaland Health Protection Society (NHPS) to process eligible CMHIS add-on claims, expressing hope that the entire bill will ultimately be covered under the scheme. It also stated that it attempted to contact the family before the matter was reported in the media.
Claiming that the reports misrepresented the facts and harmed its reputation, the hospital said it is seeking legal advice while reaffirming its commitment to transparent billing and quality patient care.
