PRYSM PROPRIETOR TITO YEPTHOMI BREAKS SILENCE; NEW CCTV FOOTAGE SURFACE OF OTHER LOUNGES

Dimapur, July 6: Tito K. Yepthomi, proprietor of Prysm Lounge and President of the Dimapur Restaurants Union (DRU), on Monday addressed the media for the first time regarding the June 30 incident involving NSF Finance Secretary Katho P. Aomi.

He clarified that the widely circulated DRU letter seeking ₹5,000 in financial assistance from restaurants was not requested by the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF). He said the DRU independently raises funds from time to time to assist various unions and organizations.

Recounting the incident, Yepthomi alleged that Katho P. Aomi and a group, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, vandalised Prysm Lounge, verbally abused him, pulled him by the collar, and assaulted three of his security personnel who attempted to intervene. He also claimed the group had visited several other restaurants and lounges earlier that night carrying baseball bats, adding that CCTV footage from those establishments exists.

He said that he had been urged to compromise as both parties belong to the same community but maintained that the police should be allowed to complete their investigation. He also reaffirmed his commitment to stand by the Dimapur Restaurants Union “till my last breath.”

Earlier, the NSF relieved Katho P. Aomi of all responsibilities pending the outcome of the ongoing inquiry into the case.
