Nov 19, 2024: The minister of the department of health and family welfare Paiwang Konyak visited the district Dimapur hospital, along with district officials of the department inspected the entire hospital. The purpose of visit was they wanted to inspect the infrastructure development activities that was under going as well as the pending projects. He mentioned that the new infrastructure should be put in place, proper canteens as well and different areas such as the staff quarters will be coming up. He has also emphasized on manpower saying that the district hospital was low in manpower and they will try to provide the best specialists and doctors at the district headquarters especially in Dimapur being the largest district of the state. He has also mentioned about funds that it should be used judiciously and even the (NPA) Non-Practicing Allowance where he mentioned that the doctors that are practicing in private hospitals must also come forward and practice at the district hospital. Also added that there are funding for those doctors who come from private practices and join do the needful. Another very important subject that he mentioned was about the food safety measures that have been taken up by the department now several exercises have been take up and he has mentioned that they are doing the regular checking and then the results are yet to come, they will take strict action if any body is found guilty of hampering the food products and also the sale of illegal drugs and the banned drugs and the pharmacies with proper licenses.

Nov 19, 2024 : The actors, producers, directors from Mon have informed the media that the district administration was to organize the first ever Mon Film Festival. Which will prove to be a great opportunity for Youtubers, Film makers and Content creators all over Nagaland . At the press conference the first ever Mom film festival in the District was announced to be held on December 18th to 19th 2024. With the Theme Entertainment, Environment and Social issues. The last date for the submission was informed to be on December 15th and the forms to be submitted at monfilmfestival@gmail.com. It also mentioned that the film could be in any language but to be preferred if there are subtitles available.

October 15,2024 : Union Minister Shri Jual Oram’s Visit to Nagaland: Strengthening Tribal Empowerment and Development from 13th to 15th October 2024. The union minister of tribal Affairs Jual Oram was on three day visit to Nagaland where he inaugurated the community hall at Indisen village at Dimapur district on 15th october. While he also visited Zunheboto on 14th October and Met with all the concerned departments over and took up all their issues as well. He had a review meeting at the deputy commissioner’s office in Dimapur and after which he had a conference. During the press conference he informed that 79,000 cr will be covering 549 districts with 2,911 blocks across the country and Nagaland where all 16 district will be benefited through the scheme that was inaugurated by the Prime minister on October 2nd 2024. To the media person he also mentioned that different ministries of the center will be initiating all these projects including the rural development and skill development areas in regard to roads. Also mentioned him about the deplorable road conditions in the state to which he did responded that they are willing to pump in the money, the funds for it if the work was done.

October 8, 2024 : The Dimapur Naga students union had issued a press release condemning the act of former senior Pastor Robert Kikon of the Father’s house Church. The DNSU expressed shocked at the alleged cases that had come up and spoke to Nagaland News Network and another media outlet.
After the FIR was filed, the DNSU also had Said that they will leave no stone unturned and make sure the assistant General Secretary and the speaker representing the DNSU has said that they will make sure that Justice is fair and proper and that the victims they stand in solidarity with them and they also appeal to all the Civil Society Organizations and churches also to come out and speak for the victims because no CSOs or churches has condemned the act except one or two organizations and unions including the DNSU. Also reported that many victims are from the Chumoukedima circle where the church is located at least six victims were present and the medical examination has also taken place but the results was to be released. The whereabouts of the accused was also unknown. It was also reported that there could be victims from Dimapur district again under the hands of the accused Robert Kikon. As mentioned, the DNSU had said that they will not leave any stone unturned and even take to the streets if unfair means are used.

October 18, 2024. In an update regarding the Robert Kikon case the former Pastor of a reputed church at Chumoukedima. It was found that the last known location of Robert Kikon was Malaysia.He was on the run, he was fugitive, the police informed that they have written to the Ministry of Home Affairs and process that they have to go through because it was an international area that the fugitive the person from India especially Nagaland had gone there at Malaysia was non extradition country. India had signed extradition treaties with 48 countries and Malaysia was one of them. These treaties are signed to ensure that fugitives do not escape Justice if he was there. And the government had written to the ministry of Home Affairs and also the ministry of External Affairs also will come into play in that case. It was also informed that he had withdrawn all of his bank accounts, he had swiped clean his bank accounts an amounting to rupees approximately 4 lakh 71 thousand. The process of extradition was supposedly very long according to reports in different cases but then if he does flee to a non-extradition country the country where he was at, the international country can choose to extradite him in a case by case basis and be accountable in different ways such as deportation or prosecution in that country itself. We have also been informed that the six children who were part of a children’s home at Chumoukedima where Robert Kikon was also calling them to his residence as informed. Crimes were been committed to these children from these homes and have been rescued and rehabilitated and are in a safe place. Also it was reported that they are on the lookout, notice had been sent out to the ministry. The ministry will take necessary action according to the lookout notice sent by the Government of Nagaland.

October 13,2024. After the government of Nagaland issued an order on September 20th on the enumeration of the four tribes from Nagaland that was the minority tribes which were the Kuki, Garo, Kachari, and Mikir (now Karbi) tribes, about their enumeration in regard to the RIIN. The Association of Indigenous Minority Tribes of Nagaland (AIMTN), have come together and at a press conference has questioned the government on what grounds that only four tribes were chosen for this enumeration and they they have appealed to the government for the sympathetically and systematic way to approach this particular subject in regard to RIIN. During the press conference the President of KIN L Singsit has also mentioned that there was a misconception with the people of Nagaland and the government that they are against RIIN but that was not the case and they felt that they have been discriminated in regard to this enumeration.

November 16, 2024, CM TR Zeliang to inspect and assess the progress of key National Highway projects in five districts that is Phek, Kiphere, Shamator,Tuensang and Mokokchung, while also making a big stop at the newly announced District Meluri on 11th Nov. In the course of the entire tour the Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang started that while he was in discussion and interaction with the contractors he has stressed upon the need to maintain quality of work and complete the projects as per schedule. The four day tour saw an overwhelming response and support to the government of Nagaland from the public across the five Districts while maintenance and quality remain top priority in construction of the National Highways in the state one major issue that was continuously bought up and was notified was the issue of land compensation stating that this was a very huge matter and one major issue in failure and delay of projects The deputy CM TR Zeliang appealed to the public not to hamper National Highway projects with land issues.

On September 23, 2024, Constitutional crisis that happened at the Sumi Hoho where seven persons have made a complaint against the Sumi Hoho President Vihuto Assumi claiming of many things and violation against the constitution of the Sumi Hoho. Complaints said that under certain section of the Yezaboh and the constitution they have said that the documents enclosed by the Nagaland Board of School Education Kohima had category wise stated his correct date of birth on his HSLC Admit card that is, 29 June 1977 which makes him only 47 years of age. They have said that according to the constitution the president needs to be either 50 years old or above to be the President of the Sumi Hoho secondly the seven complainants have said that details in his driving license also reflects the similar date of birth. Therefore it was clearly verified that he a 47 years old. According to the seven complainants the documents that we have received are all over social media which were all accusations. Case was filed at the court and also claimed in their case that he served as an assistant General Secretary during the year 2011-13, General Secretary for the tenure 2014- 17, and 2021-24. He again was been nominated and elected as president of the Sumi Hoho for the tenure 2024-27. Which they have said that it severely violates the mandate of the Sumi Hoho which clearly mentioned that a maximum of two terms to be an office bearer in the Sumi Hoho. Sources have informed that on 25th September they will be attending court where they are also waiting for the respondent to come and give their stands according to the claim and allegations that day is not a court hearing but the court will probably give a date when they should arrive for the court hearing. There were three things that the complainants most importantly have filed against Vihuto Assumi that he was not of age to be President. These are all accusations by seven persons of the Sumi community from different backgrounds. Another reliable source has informed that a search committee has been set up to not to elect the president but look for a capable and probable candidate all these search committee also on what grounds have they elected Vihuto Assumi as the President of Sumi Hoho was also questionable.

Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland also in charge of National Highways TR Zeliang did an extensive tour across six districts covering approximately 750km. The reason why he did this tour is to inspect and review about the construction works on especially two National Highways that is, National Highway 702a and National Highway 202. He took the trip in just 4 days and he met with tribal leaders Village Council, Chairman ,District Administrators. He went along with his team consisting of Chief Engineers, top officials of the department and many other officials as well. Trip started from Kohima went across to Phek then he went to Kiphire , Shamator, Tuensang and ended his journey at Mokokchung. At the Press conference on 15th November 2024 he invited all the media in Dimapur to give his overview of his tour and what he has observed with the progress of these two highways, during those 4 days. He then mentioned that he was not satisfied with the work that was going on on National Highway 702a and the maintenance especially. During his journey he was tweeting continuously as well regarding the maintenance work. He also directed the Chief Engineers that they should now take cognizance of the situation and sent notification to the contractors and if failing to and not being able to maintain the road and start constructing and maintenance of the road then they will be blacklisted.
Another big issue that he said regarding the construction of structures across certain villages. He revealed that the land owners and the owner of these structures will not be compensated. If the structures have been there before more than 10 years ago will only be compensated and the new structures will be demolished by the District Administrators. Another big project is the National Highway 202 in Meluri which covers 300 km. The deputy chief minister revealed that it is worth 3,119 crores of road construction that will happen in the state of Nagaland. He has appealed to the people to co-operate with the government and the implementing agency so that the National Highways can be constructed at the earliest.

On one of the viral video that was spread with regard to misconception about Supply Zumma Masjid located at Fellowship colony Dimapur, Nagaland. In the video it was mentioned that there were many people who visited the Masjid. And was also mentioned that people were seen carrying their beddings and entering the Masjid, and not only that, it was mentioned clearly in that video that people were taught nagamese in the Masjid and were trained for business purposes and were sent off. It can be assumed through that video that it was implying towards illegal immigrations. On Sep 24, 2024 Nagaland News Network visited the spot and spoke with the Muslim Council Dimapur with regard to the alleged on the Masjid, Ahidur Rahman President,MCD clarified that the allegation that was spread through the viral video was false and was mislead. He also mentioned that just after the video went viral the police, and the colony chairman reported at the spot and did not find any evidence and it was mentioned in the video and the misconception was resolved.
