Dimapur, August 17: Content creators and influencers under the Nagaland Influencers Summit (NIS) organised a charity fundraiser at Clock Tower, outside V2, Dimapur, on Friday, August 14, under its “Creator for Community” initiative to support Kohdi Children’s Home in Tuensang.
Speaking to Nagaland News Network, singer, comedian and entertainer Tovika Zhimomi said the initiative was organised as a way for creators to give back to the community for the love and support they have received. He said the creators had divided their outreach across Mon, Noklak, Tuensang and Kohima, with the fundraiser in Dimapur focused on supporting the children’s home in Tuensang.
Zhimomi said the funds raised would be used to provide materials and other assistance based on the needs of the children. He also assured transparency in the collection and utilisation of the funds, stating that the fundraiser was based on voluntary donations and was livestreamed.
Meanwhile, model, influencer and content creator Hangba Chang said he was glad to be part of the initiative, particularly as someone from the eastern region. While acknowledging that the NIS initiative had reached out to the eastern districts this time, Chang said he did not believe in dividing people as “backward” or “forward,” or along regional lines, stressing that everyone is one.
He said the fundraiser reflected this sense of unity, with people from across Nagaland coming together through their love, support and contributions—not as separate regions, but as one Naga community and one people. He added that the initiative was a way of giving back to society and extending a helping hand to the children’s home.
Chang said the team is tentatively planning to visit the children’s home around August 23, with updates to be shared through their social media platforms.
The fundraiser featured performances by artists, singers and dancers, along with games and other activities, bringing creators and members of the public together in support of the initiative.
