KOHIMA, AUGUST 14: Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) President Mteisuding has reiterated the federation’s opposition to the revised observance of Vande Mataram, stating that the objection is based on references concerning Naga faith and beliefs.
He clarified that the NSF’s stand is not against national symbols but specifically against the content and its perceived implications.Mteisuding said the NSF has notified student communities not to participate in the August 15 Independence Day programme in view of its objection to the revised observance.
On Naga political groups, he reiterated the NSF’s call to exclude non-Nagas from organisations involved in the Naga political struggle, asserting that the movement should be led by Nagas. He also expressed concern over the “mushrooming” of political groups and urged them to overcome differences and unite for a common cause.
Mteisuding maintained that there is no separate solution for different groups, but one common solution that requires all Naga political groups to come together as one entity. He said the NSF would continue to raise its voice for unity and the Naga cause.
