Kohima, August 8: Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang said differences between the Centre and the NSCN-IM remain, particularly over the modalities for implementing the 2015 Framework Agreement.
Speaking to NNN Exclusive, Zeliang said the Working Committee of the NNPGs is satisfied with the progress of its negotiations, while the NSCN-IM is still engaged in discussions with the Centre.
His remarks come amid the Nagaland Government’s renewed demand for a Union Minister-level interlocutor, recently reiterated by the Political Affairs Committee (PAC). However, the NNPGs have opposed the demand, stating that their negotiations with the Centre have concluded and that the focus should be on implementation.
The issue now remains whether the Centre will appoint a minister-level interlocutor and how the outstanding differences between the NSCN-IM and the Centre will be resolved.
