Kohima, August 8: The implementation of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) remains a key issue for the Nagaland Government following the agreement involving the Centre, the State Government and the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO).
Deputy Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang said the next stage requires the State Government to delegate the agreed powers to the FNTA, while Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton said the government is working to finalise the modalities for operationalising the arrangement.
Patton said around 42 departments have already been shifted or aligned as part of the process, while further requirements, including approximately 10,000 personnel, will need to be addressed.
The government has stressed the need for continued coordination among the State Government, ENPO and the Centre, with attention now focused on delegation of powers, administrative restructuring, staffing and the timeline for making the FNTA fully functional.
