

Dimapur, July 27: The Office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, has issued a press note on 24th July, requesting the public and media to help publicize a court notice against an absconding accused in a POCSO case.
According to the press note, the Fast Track Special Court (POCSO), Dimapur, issued a Notice under Section 84 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) against Peter Chumbemo Kikon alias Robert Kikon, a resident of Mekokla Village, Wokha district, presently residing at Little Attic Building, Kacharigaon, Dimapur.
The accused is facing charges under Section 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) read with Sections 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in connection with Dimapur West Police Station Case No. 0070/2026.
The court stated that an arrest warrant issued against the accused could not be executed as he could not be traced and is believed to be absconding or concealing himself to avoid arrest.
The notice directs the accused to appear before the Fast Track Special Court (POCSO), Dimapur, at 10:30 a.m. on August 10, 2026, to answer the charges.
The Dimapur Police have urged all media organizations and members of the public to widely circulate the notice in the interest of the investigation and the administration of justice.
