FOOTBALL EXPERTS DISMISS ARGENTINA FAVOURITISM CLAIMS; PREDICT SCORE FOR FIFA WOLRD CUP FINALS

Dimapur, July 17: As excitement builds ahead of the FIFA World Cup final, the football coach of Livingstone Foundation International School (LFI) and Nagaland Super League (NSL) Best Defender Benrithung Humtsoe shared their views on the tournament, the controversy surrounding Argentina, and the future of football in Nagaland.

The LFI coach, a Nigerian national with experience playing for top clubs in India, dismissed claims that FIFA has favoured Argentina, stating that match officials are professionals and that such allegations often stem from a lack of understanding of the game. He stressed that discipline, focus and mentality are key to success and predicted a 2-1 victory for Spain. He also encouraged aspiring footballers in Nagaland to remain disciplined, humble and committed to the sport.

Humtsoe echoed similar views, saying Argentina’s journey to the final is the result of hard work, teamwork and quality performances. He added that referees’ decisions are final and that controversies are inevitable in football. Humtsoe also predicted a 2-1 win for Spain.

Both highlighted the steady growth of football in Nagaland while emphasising the need for better infrastructure, well-maintained grounds and stronger grassroots development. They also encouraged young footballers to believe in themselves, work hard and continue pursuing their dreams.
