DMP WOMEN POLICE RULE OUT FOUL PLAY; GRIEVING HUSBAND RECALLS HOW HE FOUND OUT

DIMAPUR, July 8: A 28-year-old woman and her two-year-four-month-old son were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide at Jorapukhuri lane-3 Purana Bazar, on Tuesday morning.

According to police, preliminary investigation has ruled out any foul play. Investigators believe the woman allegedly killed her son before taking her own life by hanging.

The bodies were reportedly discovered at around 10:30 a.m. by the deceased woman’s brother-in-law, who immediately informed the police. A forensic team, along with personnel from the Women Police Station, Dimapur, visited the scene, examined the evidence and carried out the necessary investigation.

Speaking to Nagaland News Network, the deceased woman’s husband said his wife had been experiencing mental health issues for some time and had previously left home on multiple occasions. He further stated that he had filed twice for missing person reports at the Women Police Station in the past following her disappearance.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. However, based on the evidence collected so far, authorities have found no indication of third-party involvement and have treated the case as an apparent murder-suicide.
