FALSE NARRATIVES BEING SPREAD ON THE CASE, ALLEGES NSF PRESIDENT

Kohima, July 3: The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has temporarily relieved its Finance Secretary of all official responsibilities and assignments pending an inquiry into the recent controversy that has drawn widespread public attention.

Speaking to the media on Friday, the Federation described the incident as “unfortunate” and said it does not condone or endorse the actions seen in the viral videos. It, however, alleged that certain vested interests were spreading false narratives surrounding the case.

The NSF stated that its Finance Secretary will remain relieved of official duties until the facts are fully ascertained and a concrete report is available. It urged the public and the media to refrain from drawing conclusions while the matter remains under examination.

Responding to allegations of fund solicitation, the Federation referred to the clarification issued by the Restaurant Owners’ Union, stating that it had not initiated any fundraising. It further stressed that the matter would not be treated differently because it involved one of its office bearers, maintaining that the law and accountability must apply equally to everyone.

Acknowledging that the incident has affected public confidence, the NSF reaffirmed its commitment to the student community and assured that appropriate action would be taken once the inquiry is completed.
