LIFELINE BRIDGE CONNECTING NAGA COLONY AND EAST BLOCK BURMA CAMP INAUGURATED

DIMAPUR, July 3: Tovihoto Ayemi on Friday inaugurated a newly constructed bridge connecting East Block, Burma Camp and Naga Colony, Burma Camp, bringing much-needed connectivity to residents of Wards 3 and 4.

The bridge was constructed at a cost of ₹1.5 crore under Article 275(1) of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Speaking at the inauguration, Ayemi described the project as a result of strong community cooperation and assured residents that the connecting road would also be repaired in the near future.

He said the bridge would benefit not only the two wards but the wider public, noting that the drainage beneath it is one of the main drainage channels in Dimapur. He emphasised that development is a continuous process and called on community leaders to work together with the government to address local needs and build a better future.

The chairman of Naga Colony also described the bridge as a long-awaited project, stating that it serves as a vital link for residents and several schools in the area.
