NHIDCL CHASING DEADLINE: OFFICIAL DIVULGES STATUS OF WASHED AWAY ROAD AT ‘PAGALA PAHAR’

DIMAPUR: George, the team leader from the consultancy agency bought in by the NHIDCL says that the complicated area is almost completed and commuters should be able to commute by November 20, 2024.

The pagala pahar stretch at new Chumoukedima at NH29, Dimapur- Kohima road where the road was washed away earlier in the month of July and we have seen that the work have commence here since then and team leaders and site engineers are also seen from the NHIDCL. Few weeks ago, Deputy Chief Minister who is also the in-charged of NH, TR Zeliang met with the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways in New Delhi where he had stated various issues regarding the roads and NH in the state especially in the area where the road was washed away by the water, several inspections were also done by the departments as well as the Chief Minister himself and said that the work to be completed by October 30th but we can still see that it is still no where near completion till this date.

While on talk with ‘George’ the team leader from the consultancy agency that the NHIDCL has bought in to make sure that this stretch at pagala pahar is done and build at the earliest and he explained how the road is made by reinforcing the soil at each layer in order to stop the water from taking away the soil and said that they are removing all the loose soil from the roadside and said that each each layer and everything will be compacted and also added that complicated area is almost completed but the problem they were facing was because of the rainfall and said that they could not take up as fast as expected, however he said that it is going quiet well right now and said that they should be able to complete the project at the earliest and he assures everyone that by November 20th, 2024 the work will be completed and that commuters will be able to commute from both sides of the road.
