DIMAPUR : Press statement in the backdrop of scrapping the 56years old Free Movement Regime(FMR) agreement along the Indo Myanmar border by the Union Government of India.
In the press statement stated by the National Socialist Council of Nagalim on 28th October 2024 stated that the scrapping of the Free Movement Regime(FMR) and initiating a border fencing construction along the Indo Myanmar border was to divide the Naga brothers forever and so it is unacceptable and also stated that the agreement has honored the history of Naga brotherhood and acknowledge the arbitrary nature of the border pillars laid.
The NSCN also stated in their press statement that constructing a fencing along the border is like taking away the rights to freely in their own land and that it is their inalienable rights to live as one united people and that they do not need any consent from any Government entities to move freely in their ancestral land. The press statement also stated that the Eastern flank, Naga army as a threat to the Naga people and its land and they will never remain as a mute spectator and will go all out against the grievous ploy of the Union Government, while the Indo-Naga peace talk is still going on.
The press statement made it clear for all the Naga citizen that no one should cooperate with the proposed fencing initiative and no contractors or no wage earner should bid for the contract or construction of the border fencing. They also gave out a strict warning that if anyone is seen defying the guidelines stated by the NSCN then the risk will be of their own.
