Dimapur, October 9 (NNN): In an initiative to promote women’s empowerment and self-reliance, Dimapur-I MLA H. Tovihoto Ayemi extended free tailoring training to women across the constituency, with 60 women completing a three-month course and receiving sewing machines.
The programme was held at the Anmai Integrated Development Association at the Don Bosco campus in Dimapur, where the beneficiaries received sewing machines to help them pursue tailoring as a source of livelihood.
Addressing the gathering, Ayemi said skill development initiatives were essential at a time when government job opportunities in Nagaland were limited. He encouraged the women to utilise their training to become self-reliant and improve their livelihoods.
The MLA also assured that similar free skill development programmes would be extended to men and boys across the constituency, with training in various fields aimed at enhancing skills and creating livelihood opportunities.
