Mokokchung, July 23: The District Congress Committee Mokokchung (DCCM) has issued a clarification on 22nd July, through a press conference regarding the allegations made by Aley and the resignation of office bearers, dismissing the claims made by Aley and asserting that no such collective decision had been taken.
According to DCCM leaders, during the party presidents’ meeting held last year, members were informed that organisational changes could be made in the interest of strengthening the party. However, they clarified that this should not be interpreted as a resignation or dissolution of the existing committee.
The leaders further alleged that several signatures submitted in connection with the purported resignation were forged. They claimed that, so far, at least 12 forged signatures have been identified.
Three individuals whose names reportedly appeared on the signature list also stated that they had no knowledge of the document and were shocked to find their names included, alleging that their signatures had been used without their consent.
Strongly condemning the allegation made by Prakash Aley, the DCCM said it would pursue the matter “till the last” and take all necessary steps to establish the truth.
Reaffirming the unity of the district unit, the DCCM maintained that all members remain together.
