GOOD NEWS: ROAD OVER BRIDGE TO OPEN BEFORE JAN 31; REPAIRS DONE AFTER 50 YEARS

DIMAPUR:26 meter length of the ROB, reconstructed for the safety of the public.

The Road Over Bridge, connecting Burma camp and Khermahal which was under repairing and shut since October 1st creating a lot of traffic in the town area and a lot of people who wanted to come for shopping and other works in town area, could not come to town because of the traffic and traffic chaos as well and many were avoiding the town areas.

But, we were just notified from the project manager that this ROB should be completed anytime between January 15-31st; which is a good news, not just for the people of Dimapur but for everyone. We could also see that the cash barriers have been constructed for extra safety. This stretch is a 26 meter length of the bridge that has been rehabilitated and reconstructed for the safety of the public.

This ROB was reconstructed after 50 years with a project cost of rupees 2.6 crore, which has been rehabilitated, reconstructed and repaired for that amount. Innovative construction, the firm has undertaken this project. According to an official of the PWD he has also mentioned that the cement curing is taking place now and the project manager also informed that the department has informed them to build more retaining walls for the safety of the public and the stability of the bridge.
