DIMAPUR: Weapons used in the assault of the four Naga youths seized by the Dimapur Police.



In the recent Thahekhu assault case which happened on the 16th of December and has taken Dimapur by storm, where many organizations, Frontal Youth Organizations have come together and even formed an action committee and even gave an ultimatum to the Dimapur police as well.
The latest development reported that all seven accused in the assault case has been arrested by the Dimapur police. Three of the accused was already arrested by the police on 17th December itself, the day after the assault. And on December 18 another accused was arrested by the police and on December 21 three more accused was arrested by the Dimapur police, a total of seven of the accused was arrested by 21st December, 2024.
Along with the three accused that was arrested on the 21st December, the weapons and tools used during the assault and threatening of the victims was also seized. It included AK47 and .32 pistol was seized during the arrest of the three. It was also informed that four out of the seven accused arrested belongs to the NSCN Akato Chophy group namely; Jonathan Ngade, Kakuho Achumi, Lumtsaba Sangtam and Holovi Yeptho. while the other three namely; Khevito yeptho, Itovi Yeptho and Atoka Sumi were civilians.
Apart from this, the CP informed that even two of the cadres of the Akato Chophy group that were arrested also tried to join another group as well after committing the crime. All seven has been arrested and that there will be court hearings regarding this case.
