DIMAPUR: First day of the 25th edition hornbill festival kick off with a massive bang and a grand inaugural program.
The inaugural function of the much awaited Hornbill festival began on the 1st of December 2024. The celebration was the 25th edition of the hornbill festival celebrating its silver jubilee and all the 17th tribes of Nagaland was seen gathered at the arena of the Kisama Village in Kohima district.
The 25th edition hornbill festival inaugural program stated with the chief host that is the GoN along with host Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as well as the festival host Minister of Tourism Temjen Imna Along as well as the tribal guest Medo the head GB of Kohima village. The first day of the Hornbill festival witness all the 17th tribes of Nagaland gathered at the arena as well as various dignitaries from different partner countries that is dignitaries and officials from Japan, Peru, Whales, USA and Bulgaria and a special guest AR Rahman.
Not only the people of Nagaland but many tourist was also seen in the first day of hornbill festival, collectively having fun and celebrating the 25th edition of hornbill festival with traditional music, folk dance, cultural/traditional food, cuisines and many other activities. Many arrangements was also seen made this year in the hornbill festival, such as the parking which has always been a major issue every year. Additionally even the traffic was also seen well regulated this year unlike the other years. The highlight of the first day of hornbill festival was the musical performance by the DRUM TAO musical group from Japan.
