Dimapur: 21st November, 2024 Garo community celebrated successfully, a mini hornbill fest at Dimapur.
The mini hornbill fest was successfully celebrated by the Garo community at Samaguri village in Dimapur with L Singsit the former Director General of Prison Home Guard and Civil Defense as the chief guest. He was seen speaking a lot about the history regarding the minority tribes namely the Kuki, Kachari, Karbi as well as the Garo tribes on how they came into Nagaland and the northeast states.
Many performances was seen by the Kuki cultural troop, the Kachari cultural troop and the Karbi cultural troop. The festival was also a part of the mini horbill festival that is celebrated by many communities and tribes across Nagaland, which is also supported by the government of Nagaland specifically the Tourism Dept. of the Government of Nagaland where different district celebrate their community mini hornbill throughout the year.
The mini hornbill saw various cultural performances, showcasing their unique culture and identity and its rich culture. The chief guest also encouraged the people by saying that, ‘Let this not be the end, Let this be the beginning’ and talked about giving importance to one another even in the future. The fest was a grand success.
