DIMAPUR : Two lost lives on wild boar attack
Two villagers lost their lives on attack by wild boar in Kenchensu village, in the Tobu area of Mon District, Nagaland. On October 1st when three villagers were on their way to their fields. One of the victims, Angba, a 32-year-old man, sustained severe injuries from a bite to his upper leg by the wild boar and was taken to the Mon District Hospital for treatment. According to the president of the Kenchensu Village Students’ Union (KVSU), on October 2nd, the village council and students’ union and the villagers went to visit the site of the incident and verify the location. The villagers went even without any guns acknowledging that the villagers were committed to the conservation of wildlife. Tragically, while at the site, a village Gaon Burah (GB) was attack by the wild boar and killed. Holding their funerals on 3rd October. On October 7, 2024, the village organized an expedition to locate the wild boar responsible for the attacks. The villagers killed the animal and brought it back to the village, where in a video that has now gone viral, family members were seen expressing their grief and frustration on the dead boar.
