DIMAPUR: CM Rio urges the DMP Naga council To foster peace and progress and work in unity.
Naga Council DMP was established on 1949 and on 2nd November 2024 they celebrated the 75th anniversary jubilee in DMP DDSC stadium, where our chief minister Neiphiu Rio was seen as the special guest. In his speech he saluted the pioneers or the founding of Naga Council DMP for their commitment and having a good vision and leading forward the council; he also talked about the motto of Naga Council DMP- “All in One” is a plate-form for unity and oneness and according to that, he urges to continue in the same spirit and foster peace ,unity and oneness even in the days to come.
Special guest also said that although our state Nagaland is still economically backward, however our rich culture and traditions are protected so far and how people acknowledge us because of our rich culture and traditions. He also talked about the Naga issues- he said that the main reason behind not getting the solutions so far is because we are not united and says to the citizens that we should all work in unity and bring the progress in our state. In his speech he was also seen giving assurance to the Naga Council DMP that they will be provided with an office building and also built a six story building for the Naga Club and for the citizens of DMP he promised or gave assurance that the DDSC stadium will be upgraded in international standard.
The 75th anniversary NCD started off by giving a briefing about the history of NCD by the president NCD, Etsungmomo Kikon. He also thanked the founders and pioneers of the NCD for forming a council for the Naga people with a good vision. We also saw the former president NCD, Savi Liegise talk in depth about the Naga Council DMP and Naga Club and its history behind. Tinojongshi Chang, DC DMP was also seen giving a short speech saluting and acknowledge everyone for achieving milestones and takes the opportunity to request, to take forward in achieving unity and justice with all Naga families which will be a great inspiration for all the people; he ended by quoting a bible verse from “Galatians 6: 9-10”. Not only that but even Moatoshi LKR ADV, Exicise Dept was also seen giving a brief note about the celebration of diversity as one Naga. Tovihoto Ayemi ADV Tribal Affairs also expressed his gratitude to the NCD for the 75th anniversary.
The 75th anniversary of Naga Council DMP celebrated with great joy and happiness, where all the different tribes of Nagaland came forward and took part in the cultural folk dance and music, showcasing the unique rich culture and traditions of the Naga community and embracing the diversity that exist in our state Nagaland. The event was indeed a momentous moment to be cherished for a life long, everybody celebrated it with great joy and pride. The program ended with a vote of thanks for the success of the 75th Naga Council DMP anniversary.
