The ANCSU Collegiate meet 2024 beat contest was held on 31st October 2024 at the host place, Livingstone Foundation International School DMP. Colleges from different districts came forward and took part in the ANCSU Beat Contest 2024, showcasing their unique talents and exploring their potentials.
All together seven colleges took part in the ANCSU Beat Contest, 2024; Patkai College Chumoukedima, Cross college Kohima, Fazl Ali college Mokokchung, Baptist College Kohima, Living Stone Foundation International School DMP, Sazolie College Kohima and Immanuel College DMP. Where, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung took away the winner prize of the ANCSU Collegiate meet 2024 beat contest and Sazolie College Kohima as the runner up. The students(bands) from the seven different colleges performed an incredible performances, impressing all the audiences present there at the venue. They all performed the classic rock anthem “You Give Love A Bad Name” by Bon Jovi in their own styles.
Special Guest Neibalie Rio, Special Officer to Chief Minister of Nagaland also delivered an inspiring speech, he opened his speech by talking about the advisories that is given even the harmful products like tobacco and alcohol carrying warnings- “Chewing Tobacco is injurious to health” or “Drink responsibly” for alcohol; he used this particular phrases to to say that even we should live responsibly and carry out all our duties. He also added in his speech that the students are the leaders of tomorrow and encourages them to be responsible, live responsibly and not shy away from responsibility, and also stated that there is no short cut to success and one must work hard.
ANCSU Collegiate Meet 2024, Beat Contest also recognized the talents of individuals and awarded them; best vocalist- Kekhrie Tepa from Sazolie College kohima; best drummer- Marcus Sophie from Sazolie College, Kohima; best bassist- Bangkhlim from Patkai College, Chumoukedima; best Rhythem Guitar from Livingstone Foundation International School; best lead guitarist- Jongshi Lkr from Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung; best pianist- Ruveo Cukhamu from Patkai College, chumoukedima. The conestants were judged under certain criteria- band chemistry, structure and technicalities, showmanship and stage presence, time management, and crowd engagement.
The Beat contest 2024, featured some of the most renowned personalities such as -Clement Imsong ( a seasoned vocalist from the band Lord of Rock Nagaland), Yangkum Jinger ( the talented drummer of Incipit), Mankon Konyak (lead guitarist of bands EXI and Chicken Head), Jungshi Aier ( a highly skilled bassist).
The amazing event ended with a brief note by Imnawabang T . Longkume, Social and Cultural Secretary of ANCSU. The wonderful event was hosted wonderfully by Likhevi Yeptho & Hinohito Z Aye and at the end DJ Rhon took over the stage and left the whole stage, crowd shaken by her breath-taking DJ performance, which was like a cherry on top to the amazing ANCSU Collegiate meet 2024, Beat Contest.
